Cincy DIY Writers Showcase

  • Chase Public 1569 Chase Avenue Cincinnati, OH, 45223 United States (map)

Chase Public welcomes the Cincinnati DIY Writer’s group for a showcase of their work, featuring readings from Monica Lynn Bostic, Jesse McKinley, Maxx D. McKinley, Kryst Kruer, Spike Mogy, Chelsea Morgan, and Roy W Jones.

Monica Lynn Bostic- is an artist from Norwood, OH. She is the writer of a short story compilation entitled,  The Ascension of Saint Celia and Other Stories, which was self published with the help of the Cincy DIY Writer's group. She is an editor and contributor  to the group's other projects: All of These People Live Around Here and Some of Them Don't Volumes 1 and 2, and Scary Stories to Ruin Cincinnati. She has written, produced, and acted in plays with Cincinnati-based group The Fallen Players. She played in the Bostic Family Tent Revival Band, and is basically down for whatever,  as long as you're driving.

Jesse McKinley- bio forthcoming

Maxx D. McKinley- local writer/musician who is busting his ass to read 100 books by Jan 1st as not to fail his Goodreads challenge. He wrote a novel in 2016 you can pick up for $15 bucks. If you dig Murakami and Amelia Gray.

Kryst Kruer- is a ukulele player and poet- promoting peace and equality for everyone who has faced trauma, in whatever fashion. Kiss, don't piss off! Peace and love over here.

Spike Mogy- Studies physics at the University of Cincinnati. Lives in Over the Rhine. Has 10 cats in her apartment that they share with her mom and partner. And is a proud, nice vegan.

Chelsea Morgan- Writer and Musician. Loving creator of the creepily cute ugly orphan dolls, which are always in the making, then put up for adoption on her Etsy page, "The Ugly Orphanage". Single mother, starving artist. Occasional flights on her witch broom, occasionally bites wolf teeth on a full moon, too many sticks in the cauldron, make for a hectic spell. Hard to say no to a cold one, but sobriety hurts like hell.

Roy W Jones- Multidimensional artist, portraits, music, poetry, movies, and game design. Flip styles like fixer-upper houses and eager to share sardonic laughter or awkward insecurities and nuanced horror.
