Poetry: Megan Martin and Geoffrey Woolf

  • Chase Public 1569 Chase Ave Cincinnati, OH, 45223 (map)

Chase Public is happy to host a reading from two of our favorite local writers, Megan Martin and Geoffrey Woolf.

Geoffrey Woolf // lives in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he is a Professor of English and Literature at Cincinnati State Technical & Community College. His work has appeared in publications, including The Cincinnati Poetry Review, Smartish Pace, and Poet Lore. He is the author of three collections: When You’re not Here I Notice Things (2002) Bogeyman (2012) and Learn to Love Explosives (2016). He is a graduate of the University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop and The Werner Institute for Negotiation and Dispute Resolution at Creighton University.

“ Woolf wields a fierce and genuine wit against flim-flam hopes, and his poems bring laughter and discomfort in equal measure.”
– Murray Shugars

Megan Martin // is the author of the tiny fiction collection NEVERS (Caketrain 2014) and a book of prose poems, Sparrow & Other Eulogies (Gold Wake 2011). She teaches at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and lives in a weird house in Northside with three bratty cats.

“[Martin] emerges from the tension between what is real, what is perceived, what is felt and what is completely imagined. What makes [her] such an amazing writer is that it’s hard to discern the differences—and it doesn’t even matter.”
– Melissa Broder
